Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks with Benfica over the possibility of securing a permanent deal for loan signing Helder Costa, according to Sky sources.

The 23-year-old winger joined Wolves on a season-long loan last summer and became the Sky Bet Championship club's first signing following their takeover by the Fosun Group.

Costa has scored nine goals in 28 appearances this season and has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Sky sources understand Wolves are keen to secure a deal before the close of the January transfer window in order to stave off any competition for his signature.
