Tottenham are continuing to scout Ajax fixtures with Justin Kluivert and Donny van de Beek chief among the players they are monitoring, Sky Sports News understands.

As per their recruitment policy, Spurs focus scouting on a number of specific clubs across Europe that similarly develop young players, including Ajax in the Netherlands, Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim in Germany, and Monaco in France.

They have had substantial success recruiting from Ajax over recent years, with centre-back Davinson Sanchez following Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen to the club in a record £38.4m deal in the summer.

Sanchez's addition is already being considered a success within the club, having near-seamlessly slotted into the team and started every Champions League and Premier League game since his debut at Burnley in August.

Despite their excellent start to the campaign, Tottenham are still considering signing a new central midfielder in January, with Everton's Ross Barkley high among their targets following interest in the summer.

Van de Beek has been impressing in the Ajax midfield this term at just 20 years old, scoring once and providing an assist, and statistically, he has been among the team's best performers so far.

Forward Kluivert, the 18-year-old son of former Netherlands and Barcelona striker Patrick, has been watched by Spurs for some time, since they actively pursued attackers such as Wilfried Zaha in 2016.

Spurs scouts have also kept a keen eye on Leverkusen's forward Kai Havertz - an 18-year-old Germany youth international who already has more than 30 Bundesliga appearances to his name and three assists this season.

Steve Hitchens is in charge of scouting at Tottenham, having returned to the club earlier this year, and in the summer he oversaw the additions of five players - Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and Paulo Gazzaniga - that have strengthened their squad.
