What they need...

Leicester have not stood still following their remarkable Premier League triumph and despite being rocked by one major departure, have brought in players aplenty. Claudio Ranieri will strive to maintain their remarkable team spirit and after losing N'Golo Kante, will hope to keep hold of Riyad Mahrez having already tied Jamie Vardy down to a long-term deal.

The Foxes will go straight into the Champions League group stages having won the title last season, so they will need a bigger squad to cope with the European workload, with wide and defensive areas ripe for reinforcements.

Who are the targets?

Leicester had been targeting Republic of Ireland star Robbie Brady, who is looking for a swift Premier League return after Norwich's relegation, while Wales hero Hal Robson-Kanu has also been linked.

Ranieri will also want to add some depth to his central defensive department, with Burnley defender Michael Keane and Iceland star Ragnar Sigurdsson both potential additions.

What the manager has said

"For us it's not so important to bring some superstars, it's important to bring the players that play with heart and with the soul," Ranieri said. "This was one of our secrets [last season] and for us it is important. For me it is important to have two players for each position because we have a lot competitions to do and it is important to be ready for each competition.

"The new players have to be able to play with us. I won't just accept any player. If they join us, they have to live with our family, the way we are."

Charlie Nicholas' view

"They're obviously pretty solid if they can keep hold of Riyad Mahrez to go with pinning down Jamie Vardy. Maybe Danny Simpson at right-back could be replaced, but the rest of the team is well covered. However, I still don't anticipate them being in the top six next season because of how the 'big teams' will be raising their games and how teams will relish facing the champions."
