Sam Clucas missed Hull's defeat at QPR on Saturday because "he is preparing to play for another club", manager Leonid Slutsky has confirmed.
The 26-year-old had started in all three of the Tigers opening Championship games but did not make the 18-man match-day squad at Loftus Road, where his side lost 2-1, despite travelling to the stadium.
Slutsky said: "I think he is going to another club. I don't know absolutely, but I think yes. I don't know (which club) but it's Premier League.
"I think there will be official information. It's his decision. I only listen to information - I don't take part in negotiations. I think a deal will be in some days."
Clucas himself also moved to relay any suggestions he was on strike, tweeting: "I didn't and would never do that to a club I owe a lot."
Sky sources reported earlier this week that Swansea had made an approach for the left-side player, who can play in midfield or at the back.
Hull also rejected two bids from Burnley, with the second bid worth up to £10m, earlier this month.
Clucas has been superb for Hull since joining from Chesterfield in a deal worth around £1m in July 2015, scoring nine goals in over 100 appearances in the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship.
He rose up the tiers from non-league Lincoln, joining Mansfield and then Chesterfield in September 2014, thriving in Paul Cook's successful spell in charge of the Spireites.
