Gary Neville discusses Manchester United's lack of goals this season

Gary Neville believes Jose Mourinho is lining up another big summer in the transfer market to address Manchester United's attacking problems.

United have been held to goalless draws at home to Burnley, Hull and most recently West Brom, having also failed to beat Stoke, West Ham and Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

Missing suspended top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they had 18 shots to Albion's three on Saturday, leading Mourinho to criticse his attacking foursome of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard.

Jose Mourinho blamed his strikers for his side's failure to break the deadlock in their draw with West Brom

Sky sources understand United are interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and Neville would not be surprised if his former club spent heavily in the summer.

"The good thing is when you can easily identify your problem," Neville told Premier League Daily. "They have had too many draws against teams they should be beating. They just lack that killer instinct.

"Against Burnley they had something like 35 shots. It has happened so many times. The Bournemouth game was incredible. If you add those dropped points up and add them to their current tally, they would be in serious business.

"In some ways, when you can easily identify your weaknesses and where you need to strengthen, that's a good thing. I'm sure that is how Jose will be looking at it.

"At this moment in time too many mistakes have been made and I think Jose will know that. His frustration with his strikers after the game on Saturday was real.

"They need quality, more subtlety and more killer instinct in the final third. The positive is he knows where to improve. He needs players capable of winning matches for him. The ones currently up top are not doing that.

"I think he's lining it up. You think about the sales of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay for around £40m.

"There's talk of Antoine Griezmann and I'm sure other clubs will be after him as well, but Jose must be lining up for another big summer.

"It's not just the attack because there are some shortcomings in defence too. They need a centre-back, they need a holding midfielder. I think five or six will come in, with two or three going."

Fellow Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher added: "Zlatan has that personality and presence but I feel it's a bit embarrassing for those other players that they need a 35-year-old centre-forward.

"It's a big worry, the fact these young players go in there and can't seem to cope, it doesn't bode well for them and I think that's Mourinho's frustration.

"When you play at the top level, if you get a chance you must take it."
