The French international has come through a turbulent start to his English career to establish himself as a crucial member of the Red Devils side.
A lengthy period of talks over a new deal at Old Trafford - as well as the interest of Milan - triggered speculation that the pacey defender would leave.
However, Silvestre insisted to L'Equipe that he was not looking for a transfer, and that he would have been uncomfortable playing for Milan after his stint at rivals Internazionale.
"I have a contract for three-and-a-half years, I am playing regularly, I have improved and people rely on me," said Silvestre.
"Except for Milan there was never any contact, but to go to Milan after playing for Inter would have been complicated.
"Moreover - what club has a better chance of winning the Champions League than Manchester United?
"In retrospect, the six months of negotiations were a cinch."
Silvestre believes that Sir Alex Ferguson will keep United in touch of Arsenal, but reserved special praise for Chelsea's renaissance.
"We will remain hanging on to Arsenal - they may be better than the rest of The Premiership but they are not better than us.
"They may score more goals than us but the defences are equal - we are waiting for a mistake.
"I honestly never believed that Chelsea would be where they are at the start of the season.
"But Claudio Ranieri has brought an Italian harshness, they are steady and it is the best defence in the league.
"Marcel [Desailly] and William [Gallas] do a wonderful job."
