Uruguay name tournament squad

URUGUAY have announced their squad for the four team championship in Tehran.

The 18-man group will play against the hosts Iran, Siria and Egypt in a mini tournament before coach Juan Roman Carrasco picks a squad to play a friendly against Argentina in Florence on August 20.

All the names in the squad are based in South America with the coach issuing a seperate list of players from European teams who will join the party in Florence

The players who do not get selected for the trip to Italy will return home to Uruguay from Iran.

Carrasco has already suggested the squad that he chooses for the match against Argentina is likely to be the group of players who will be involved in the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Bolivia on September 7.

The squad to travel to Tehran is:
