Veron still upset at United exit

Chelsea star Juan Sebastian Veron has expressed his disappointment at how he was bombed out of Manchester United.

The way he left Old Trafford in the summer for Stamford Bridge still rankles with the Argentine ace.

The former Lazio midfielder has slammed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson for not keeping his promises after insisting Veron would not be sold by the club.

"What Ferguson did to me isn't something that has been eating me up," said Veron. "It is something that has happened. It is behind me and I won't allow it to get to me .

"Ferguson spoke to me before the pre-season trip to America about a possible move even though he was telling the media on tour I was staying! What more can I say.

"It makes it difficult to live but he decision was taken out of my hands. There was nothing I could have done and my conscience is clear.

"At no point did I ever go to Manchester United and say, look, I wanted to leave.

"Sure the offer from Chelsea was a good one - but I didn't want to leave. I was committed to Manchester United and the club knew how well I could play.

"They had seen it patches, I had turned in some good performances for the club and they knew what they were getting in me.

"I don't know why Ferguson called me a disgrace? Why did he say that? He knows that I was committed to United."
