Kieran to fight for place

Kieran Richardson says he is determined to succeed at Manchester United.

Kieran Richardson says he is determined to force his way into Sir Alex Ferguson's plans at Manchester United next term.

The midfielder is held in some regard at Old Trafford and Ferguson opted to send the youngster on loan to West Brom to increase his experience of the rigours of The Premiership.

Richardson has flourished under Bryan Robson at The Hawthorns and feels the move to West Brom has improved his awareness of top-flight football.

"I know I still have so much to learn, but when I go back to Old Trafford after this loan there will be no more of that 'Oh no he lacks the experience'," he told The Sunday Times. "I've been there and done it.

"I want to play in The Premiership next season and I know I can.

"I hope that I've given the gaffer food for thought.

"It will be a big season for Manchester United. It's a must that we win the league.

"Every player will have to fight for his place and I want to be in there fighting."
