Lille midfielder Jean Makoun has revealed his desire to play for Premiership giants Manchester United.

The combative Cameroon international has been a transfer target for The Red Devils, as manager Sir Alex Ferguson looks for a long-term replacement for former United captain Roy Keane.

Makoun has already admitted to expecting an offer from the Old Trafford club this summer, with Ferguson having taken a closer look at the player during Lille's midweek Coupe de France defeat at Paris Saint Germain.

Makoun, who impressed for The Indomitable Lions at this year's African Cup of Nations, has expressed his interest in making the move to The Premiership with United.

"I'd love to play for Manchester United," Makoun said in the News of the World.

"United is a team everyone dreams of playing for.

"If I had the chance to go there I'd say, 'Certainly!'"
