Double delight for Sir Alex

Two different Manchester United sides claimed friendly wins over Glentoran and Dunfermline on Wednesday.

Carlos Queiroz's XI secured a 3-0 success in Belfast thanks to first half goals from Fraizer Campbell, Patrice Evra and Nani.

Campbell opened the scoring just five minutes in after some great work by winger Lee Martin to win possession in the final third.

It did not take long for United to double their advantage with a fine counter-attack resulting in Evra finishing expertly from Campbell's through-ball.

United saved the best for last with Nani's superb strike from the edge of the area on 36 minutes the pick of the goals.

Second half changes naturally hindered United's progress although a spirited second-half display from Glentoran left the fans with plenty to smile about.

At the same time in Scotland a second Manchester United XI coasted by Dunfermline 4-0 at East End Park.

They were in control of the contest at half-time thanks to goals from wingers Chris Eagles and Ryan Giggs.

Wayne Rooney bagged a second-half brace, his first coming from the penalty spot, to complete a fine night's work for the defending Premiership champions.
