HARLEY OUT TO PROVE HIS WORTH

WIMBLEDON loan signing Jon Harley is hoping to use his move to Selhurst Park as the opportunity to show Chelsea he is worthy of a first team place.

The England Under-21 star, who is on a three-month deal at the First Division club, made a stunning debut for the Dons on Saturday scoring two goals and setting up another in an easy 4-0 win at Crewe.

The left sided defender has found himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since Claudio Ranieri took over last month, but he is confident of proving to Ranieri that he is worthy of a place in the team.

"There are a few players like myself who have gone out on loan to show what we can do," said Harley. "That was one of the reasons I was allowed to come here."

Harley revealed that, although he is happy to be playing regular first team football, he has no plans to move on from Chelsea.

"I've got a chance to prove I can play and be pushing for a place in the future," he added. "But I haven't come here to show myself to other clubs so I can get away from Chelsea. That's not in my plans."
