ADAMS SINGS TERRY'S PRAISES

ARSENAL captain Tony Adams has tipped promising Chelsea defender John Terry to become one of the world's best defenders.

Terry has emerged from the shadows at Stamford Bridge this season to hold down a regular place in Claudio Ranieri's side alongside French star Marcel Desailly, and Adams is very impressed with him.

A product of The Blues` youth system, Terry has come through the ranks to keep such international stars as Frank Leboeuf out of the team.

The England Under-21 captain has been tipped to make the breakthrough to the full senior team and he is so highly-rated by Ranieri that he insists he would not contemplate selling him.

"I love him," said Adams. "I think he's a fabulous player, I really do. I just hope that he gets the guidance he needs.

"He could become one of the best centre backs this country has ever produced."

Terry's Chelsea team-mate Jody Morris is hoping to follow his lead and get his career back on track after suffering with injury and form this season.

Morris has just returned to the side after three months on the sidelines and he has promised to change his wayward ways of the past to fulfil his undoubted talent.

"John would be my player of the year," said Morris.

"He is a quality player and has shown what he can do when he's been given his chance this season. That is the sort of chance that I'm looking for."

Meanwhile Chelsea captain Dennis Wise is believed to have stepped in to halt a dressing room revolt against Ranieri, according to reports.

A number of senior players are understood to have raised their concerns to Wise about Ranieri's stewardship, who they wanted to inform the club's board, but the former England international is believed to have refused getting involved and that is as far as it went.

Ranieri has struggled at Stamford Bridge since taking over from Gianluca Vialli in September as the team have flattered to deceive with a number of inconsistent results.

A Uefa Cup spot is the best they can hope from a season which promised a lot at the start of the campaign and a number of players are unhappy at Ranieri's tactics and team selections.
