Blues closing in on Geremi move

CAMEROON World Cup star Geremi looks likely to be complete a move into The Premiership with Claudio Ranieri's Chelsea.

The Real Madrid wing back is frustrated at a lack of opportunities at Santiago Bernabeu, but has been a major influence in his country's involvement in the World Cup.

Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano confirmed last week that an agreement was reached with the Stamford Bridge side to bring Geremi to the London giants, while also taking the Brazilian Flavio Conceicao on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

However, The Indomitable Lions player stated that no deal has yet been completed and that he was still a Real Madrid player for the moment.

When asked about his future, Geremi said: "My future? I have not yet done anything with Chelsea and, therefore, I am a Real Madrid player.

"I do not want to speak more of Madrid because I am concentrating on the game with Germany."

Winfried Schafer's Cameroon squad need a result against his homeland on Tuesday in Fukuroi, as Group E decides the two teams that will reach the knockout stages.

The deal for Flavio Conceicao appears to have stalled, and looks less likely at present to be concluded than the Geremi swoop.
