Evans hoping to extend O's stay

LEYTON ORIENT'S on-loan goalkeeper Rhys Evans wants to extend his three-month stay at Brisbane Road, after revealing his delight at attaining first team football.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper is well down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but has started all three of The O's matches this season.

"If it suits Orient I'd like to stay more then three months," said Evans. "Hopefully, we can sort something out."

Evans is behind the likes of Ed De Goey, Carlo Cudicini and Mark Bosnich is the queue for the number one jersey at Chelsea and not happy sitting around, saying: "It would take three injuries before I'd play at Chelsea."

The youngster has clearly done a good job for manager Paul Brush, helping the team to two wins and a draw in the Third Division conceding only three goals in the process.
