Mourinho to decide Mutu future

Adrian Mutu could decide his future is away from Chelsea should manager Jose Mourinho fail to convince him he is in his plans for the Stamford Bridge outfit this term.

Adrian Mutu could decide his future is away from Chelsea should manager Jose Mourinho fail to convince him he is in his plans for the Stamford Bridge outfit this term.

The Romanian international, who arrived from Parma last season, is currently battling to start at The Blues against the likes of Didier Drogba, Mateja Kezman and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Mutu is set for showdown talks with new manager Mourinho and if he is not satisfied with the amount of playing time he will receive this season, will consider his future.

"Obviously he wants the same chances of playing as the other attackers in the team, that's why we will ask to meet the manager as soon as possible to know what are his plans for him," explained Mutu's agent Andrea Pretti to The Guardian.

"I believe Mourinho considers the four attackers at the same level. If this is not the case, however, things will change."

Serie A duo Juventus and Fiorentina have been linked with moves for the marksman and could decide to step up their reported interest in Mutu if he is not in Mourinho's plans.
