Gera laughs off Chelsea talk

Zolta Gera has laughed off speculation suggesting he could be a Chelsea target.

West Brom star Zolta Gera has laughed off speculation suggesting he could be a Chelsea target.

Gera started for Hungary as they lost 2-1 to Argentina on Wednesday and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was present.

Reports in the Hungarian media suggested that although Mourinho would obviously be watching his own Hernan Crespo - Gera was also of interest to him.

However, Gera - who reported to be a target for Aston Villa and Tottenham, was quick dismiss any possible link.

"Chelsea are a very strong team and I don't think that's me they would like to sign," Gera told Origo.

Mourinho also stated that Crespo was his primary reason for travelling to Budapest.

"I know Gera, who had a good season last year," said Mourinho. "But I am here because I was curious about Crespo's performance.

"I came to watch Crespo who has just come back to Chelsea and he hasn't worked with me before.

"He was very useful against Wigan and I hope he will keep doing this in the future."
