Ambrose: Blues are beatable

Darren Ambrose feels Charlton have given hope to the rest of The Premiership.

Darren Ambrose feels Charlton have given hope to the rest of The Premiership that Chelsea are not invincible.

Chelsea tasted defeat for the first time this season on Wednesday when The Addicks claimed a penalty shoot-out victory over The Blues in the Carling Cup.

The Blues' form has dipped by their own high standards in the last week, as the Cup defeat followed on from a draw at Everton in The Premiership, and midfielder Ambrose expects the rest of the league to take heart from their performance.

"That has put out a message to everyone in the Premier League that they are beatable," Ambrose told Sky Sports News.

"It wasn't in the 90 minutes, we did draw after extra time, but they are beatable and everyone will hopefully get out and see what they are made of."

Charlton are riding high in second in The Premiership and Ambrose feels the club have got to push on and claim a place in Europe.

"Everton and Bolton got into Europe last season and it gives teams like us hope that we can do it this season," added Ambrose.

"We have had such a fantastic start that it will be so frustrating if we don't end up in a European spot at end of the season."
