Eidur hails Jose impact

Eidur Gudjohnsen believes Jose Mourinho does not get the credit he deserves.

Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen believes Jose Mourinho does not get the credit he deserves for the manner in which he has moulded his side into champions.

Since the arrival of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, Chelsea managers have had an open chequebook in the transfer market.

Such wealth has led to suggestions that the Stamford Bridge hot seat is the easiest job in English football, with success a natural follow on from spending so much.

However, Gudjohnsen believes such a theory is nonsense, of the opinion that his manager is the best in the business bar none.

''It's easy to spend money, not so easy it spend it on the right players,'' said the 27-year-old.

''Real Madrid have bought the best forwards in recent years but are not winning silverware.

''Manchester United have also spent heavily, including £30 million on one player, Rio Ferdinand, look at them.

''You have to be able to put it all together and make it work in a team framework.

''That's what Mourinho has done. His man-management is second to none.

''Through his knowledge he gives each individual confidence and instils great confidence in the team.''
