Interest from the top Premiership clubs in Wales striker Craig Bellamy has not surprised his national coach John Toshack.The 26-year-old Blackburn striker, who finished the season as Rovers' top goalscorer with 13 league goals, is currently on international duty in Spain.
He looks set to start in Wales' friendly fixtures against Basque and Trinidad & Tobago, but could be a transfer target for admirers Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on his return to England.
"I think he has a clause in his contract that for a certain amount of money he can move on," Toshack commented.
"Blackburn will obviously be very keen to keep him because he has been instrumental in their run in The Premier League this season.
"I don't know about the situation but I would not be surprised if there were a few clubs sniffing about there."
Bellamy is now one of the national side's most senior players alongside captain Ryan Giggs.
The aging Manchester United winger will leave a gaping hole on the left when he retires, but Toshack has reason to be hopeful for the future.
"We have seen three left-sided players - Lewin Nyatanga, Gareth Bale and Joe Ledley, who are 17, 16 and 19 - working with such confidence.
"They have moved the ball around in training exceptionally well and give me great confidence for a unit down the left, which we could have for years to come."
Meanwhile, Portsmouth full back Richard Duffy has left the squad after his knee injury flared up again, and Gillingham goalkeeper Jason Brown has also been sent home after his wife gave birth to their second child.
