Arsenal and Chelsea have both been charged with misconduct by The FA.
Arsenal and Chelsea have both been charged with misconduct following a brawl between the two clubs in the Carling Cup final, with Gunners stars Emmanuel Adebayor and Emmanuel Eboue also in hot water following the incident.The fracas erupted in injury time of the game at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium and immediately resulted in red cards being shown to John Obi Mikel, Kolo Toure and Adebayor.
However, after receiving referee Howard Webb's match report and examining the incident, The Football Association has also charged Arsenal right-back Eboue for violent conduct after appearing to strike Wayne Bridge.
Adebayor's reaction to his red card has also incurred an FA charge for 'reacting aggressively and failing to leave the field of play immediately'.
Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger both ran onto the pitch to calm the situation, but The FA has confirmed that no officials from either club have been charged.
However the London rivals will have to answer a misconduct charge after the unseemly row.
An FA statement confirmed: "The charge alleges that the clubs failed to ensure that their 'players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour'.
"The clubs have until 14 March to respond. There are no individual charges against officials from either Arsenal or Chelsea.
"Arsenal's Emmanuel Eboue has been charged with violent conduct for striking Chelsea's Wayne Bridge.
"He has until 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday) to respond, and the case will be heard by a Disciplinary Commission on Thursday on the basis of documents and video evidence.
"His team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor has been charged with reacting aggressively and failing to leave the field of play immediately after being sent off.
"He has until 6pm tomorrow to respond to the charge and his case will be heard by a Disciplinary Commission on Tuesday 6 March.
"As this charge is outside the jurisdiction of the match officials (he had already been sent off), he has the right to a personal hearing."
Both Adebayor and Mikel have appealed against their red cards, with The FA set to rule on this seperate disciplinary matter later on Tuesday.
