St Etienne eye English raid

St Etienne are planning a raid on The Premiership as they search for a new striker.

The Ligue 1 new-boys are in the market for a striker and are reportedly eying moves for Arsenal's Jeremie Aliadiere and Liverpool's Anthony Le Tallec.

St Etienne enjoy a good relationship with Arsenal and they will hope they can persuade Arsene Wenger to let Aliadiere move on loan for the whole of next season.

It remains to be seen whether or not Wenger would let him go having lost Sylvain Wiltord and Kanu this close season.

St Etienne may have better luck in their pursuit of Le Tallec as new Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez has admitted he would be willing to loan him so he can gain regular first-team football.
