Prem duo eye Utaka

Tottenham and Birmingham are the latest admirers of Lens star John Utaka.

Tottenham and Birmingham are the latest admirers of Lens star John Utaka, while team-mate Alou Diarra is still unsure of his future.

Lens coach Francis Gillot is keen to keep hold of the Nigerian but Premiership duo Birmingham and Tottenham are on his trail.

In France, Rennes and Monaco are keen to sign the African marksman, and it seems as though Lens will find it tough to keep hold of him.

One man keen to stay at Stade Bollaert is on-loan Liverpool midfielder Diarra, although he may well return to Anfield.

Diarra has not featured for The Reds since joining from Bayern Munich, but says Rafa Benitez is keen for him to return to Merseyside in the summer.

Monaco are also interested in signing Diarra, but he says he would be happy to stay at Lens.

"I have told the Lens officials I want to stay," said Diarra. "The talks are still ongoing between Lens and Liverpool.

"Then I will have to find an agreement with Lens.

"Benitez called me. He told me he has followed my season and he would like to get me back. That is nice to hear.

"At the end of the season I will have to make a decision. Clubs like Monaco have also been interested in me, but I think I can still improve at Lens."
