Mannix completes Hamkam move

Former Liverpool starlet David Mannix has joined Norwegian club HamKam.

Former Liverpool starlet David Mannix has signed a three-year deal with Norwegian club HamKam.

The 21-year-old midfielder was regarded as one to watch in Merseyside, with some even comparing him to Xabi Alonso.

However the player, who was hit by several injuries, failed to impress at Anfield and was released by Liverpool last week.

Mannix's personal advisor, and Uncle, John Neild told Nettavisen.no: "I think this is a good transfer for both David and HamKam.

"He is 100 per cent injury free, and has resumed full training. The medical test was successful, as expected. He is only a couple of weeks behind the other players in terms of stamina."

HamKam coach, Arne Erlandsen, is excited about signing the midfielder and is looking forward to seeing what the youngster can contribute to the team.

Erlandsen said: "He is a player who has had a lot of trouble with injuries so far, so it will be exciting to see how he can establish himself and develop from here.

"He looks like a very nice humble guy and is ready to establish himself on a higher level and he is willing to work hard to do so."

According to HamKam's website there were a host of clubs chasing Mannix including Burnley, Preston, Bristol City and Scunthorpe United.
