Reyes out of Spain squad

Arsenal's new signing Jose Reyes has been left out of the latest Spanish squad to face Peru next week.

National coach Inaki Saez has omitted the former Sevilla star in order to give him more time to settle into life in The Premiership with Arsenal.

While Reyes will remain in North London, Barcelona midfielder Xavi has come back into the squad for the match as his replacement.

Atletico Madrid's young striker Fernando Torres may return to the action for his club at the weekend, but he will not be risked in the friendly squad, and Espanyol's Raul Tamudo has been drafted in to play.

Tamudo will receive a great reception from the home crowd as the game is behind staged at his club Espanyol's Estadio Montjuic in Barcelona.

Real Madrid's Guti and Deportivo's Cesar are the only two other names to be missing from the squad that won a place in Portugal with a Euro 2004 play-off victory over Norway.
