Arsenal teenager Adam Birchall has rejected the chance to stay at Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season.The young striker has spent the past three months on loan at The Causeway Stadium, netting five goals in 15 appearances.
Wycombe were keen to extend the 19-year-old's stay in League Two until the campaign's conclusion.
But Birchall, who was brought to Wycombe by Gunners legend Tony Adams, admits he has opted to return to Highbury.
With The Chairboys seeking a managerial replacement for Adams, Birchall feels it will be more beneficial to head back to his parent club.
"I'm so glad I came here I've learnt so much," Birchall told the club's official website.
"The chairman was keen to keep me on loan until the end of the season but with the manager situation I felt it best for me to return to Arsenal."
Birchall has yet to make his debut under Arsene Wenger and may require another loan spell away from the Premiership champions to sample further first team football.
