Pandev pans Gunners report

Goran Pandev has slammed reports which suggested he wanted to join Arsenal.

Macedonia striker Goran Pandev has slammed reports in the English press which suggested he was hankering after a move to Arsenal.

In the build-up to Macedonia's Euro 2008 qualifier against The Three Lions a tabloid newspaper carried quotes purportedly stemming from the forward which inferred he would use the Old Trafford stage to try and attract a bid from The Gunners.

Pandev was quoted as stating he hopes to move to The Premiership soon, despite only completing a permanent transfer to Stadio Olimpico from Udinese over the summer.

Now the Biancocelesti star has flatly denied ever speaking to the paper, insisting he is fully committed to the Serie A side.

"I've never spoken with the journalist," he told calciomercato.

"I've never thought to leave Lazio for whom I made every effort in order to stay with during the summer after the co-ownership with Udinese."
