Sevilla's Jesus Navas and Antonio Puerta have played down talk of Arsenal's interest.
Sevilla starlets Jesus Navas and Antonio Puerta have both played down speculation linking them with Premiership outfit Arsenal.The Gunners are reportedly taking a keen interest in the development of the two 20-year-olds, with chief scout Steve Rowley compiling complimentary reports of the Spanish duo for Arsene Wenger.
Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Monchi also recently confirmed that the English side are interested in the two midfielders who are both valued at around ‚é¼18 million (£12 million).
Arsenal already boast young Spaniards Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida in their ranks at Emirates Stadium, whilst the North Londoners enjoy a good relationship with Sevilla following their record purchase of Jose Antonio Reyes in January 2004.
However Puerta - who has also attracted interest from Liverpool in the past - has played down speculation that he could be joining the Primera Liga exodus to The Premiership.
"I am happy in Sevilla and now I play in the Spanish team," said Puerta.
"I am only focused on playing for my club and bringing them success.
"At the end of the season if there are any propositions it depends on the club."
Navas (pictured), who is a close friend of Reyes, has also moved to dampen talk of a potential switch to North London.
"It is normal that rumours arrive now but we will not go mad because of it," said Navas.
"My first objective is to play but I'm happy that a club like Arsenal is following my career."
Agent Jesus Rodriguez de Moya - who facilitated Arsenal's purchase of Reyes - represents both players and believes a multi-million pound double switch is not entirely out of the question.
"Also other European clubs (are interested) but it is down to Sevilla to study the situation if an offer arrives," said de Moya.
"Personally we are in excellent collaboration with Arsenal and in the world of football nothing is impossible."
