John Hughes' transfer plans are on hold until he hears about Anthony Stokes' future.
Falkirk boss John Hughes has revealed that his transfer plans are on hold until Arsenal decide where Anthony Stokes' future lies.The Irish youngster plundered 16 goals in the first half of the season for the SPL side after joining on loan, but has returned to The Emirates Stadium with a number of clubs reputedly in the chase for the striker.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has yet to decide where Stokes' development will be best served in the opening months of 2007, and Hughes says he will not enter the transfer market until he is sure there is no chance of recruiting the Irishman again.
"We are sitting tight for the next couple of weeks and if nothing happens then maybe we will get him back," said Hughes.
"I don't know the exact situation with Arsenal, we are not privy to that but we are keeping in touch.
"I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.
"I need to be fair to the club and I would have to go and sign another striker if I didn't think Anthony was coming back.
"But I am willing to wait because of the goal return he would offer us."
