Everton have moved to dismiss reports at the weekend that Newcastle were preparing a move for Joseph Yobo.Having sold Jonathan Woodgate to Real Madrid, the race is on to find a replacement - and Yobo was mentioned as a possible target.
However, Everton have moved swiftly to deny that they have had contact over the Nigerian star.
"It is just rumour and speculation," said Toffees manager David Moyes.
"He is just another name that has been cast out along with another half a dozen because they have sold Woodgate."
