Johnson dismisses move talks

Everton striker Andy Johnson has dismissed reports linking him with a move away.

Everton striker Andy Johnson has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

The 26-year-old England frontman, who joined Everton from Crystal Palace for a club record fee of £8.6million last May, has been rumoured to be of interest to West Ham but insists he has never thought about leaving the Toffees.

"There is no way I'm leaving. No way at all. It never crossed my mind when I saw the stories. It was just speculation and you can't stop that," he told the Sun.

"I suppose the speculation is good because it means you are doing your job properly. But the speculation was there for Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta as well.

"It was silly. Stupid figures and stupid money. Yet it hasn't unsettled any of us.

"Tim and 'Micky' are sorted and I've got four years left on my contract. I'm not going anywhere."

Johnson made 32 league starts for Everton last season, scoring 11 goals.
