Bolton deal nears completion

Bolton are set to agree a fee for defender Branko Ilic, according to the player's agent.

Bolton Wanderers are set to agree a fee for Slovenian defender Branko Ilic by Monday, according to the player's agent.

The Domzale player, who can play in the centre of defence or at right-back, has already had a medical at The Reebok Stadium ahead of a January move to the Premiership.

Though the clubs still need to agree a fee, the Slovenian international's agent Sam Stapleton has dismissed suggestions the fee could prove a sticking point.

"Bolton are very interested in Branko," Stapleton told the Yorkshire Post.

"He was with them last week for a few days, where he performed extremely well in his tests, and he is back with them now to have a final check on a few things.

"A prospective fee has already been talked about and everything is set up for this to push on.

"Everything should be wrapped up at the end of the week or the beginning of next."
