Doyle back to boost Reading

Reading striker Kevin Doyle has come through a reserve game unscathed.

Reading striker Kevin Doyle suffered no complications after making his comeback from a hamstring injury on Wednesday.

The Republic of Ireland international has missed the last five games for Steve Coppell's side after picking up the injury in a 1-1 draw with Everton on 14th January.

In his absence, Reading have won five games out of five, but the sight of Doyle lasting 72 minutes of a reserve clash against Tottenham Hotspur will still be a welcome sight for Coppell.

The club's top scorer this season could now be in contention for a role in Saturday's FA Cup game with Manchester United, whilst Brynjar Gunnarsson also returned from injury in the second string tie.

The victory over Spurs saw January signings Michael Duberry and Greg Halford make their first appearance for the club.
