Redknapp still keen on Reo-Coker

PORTSMOUTH manager Harry Redknapp is ready to step up his efforts to land Wimbledon skipper Nigel Reo-Coker after failing to secure his services earlier in the summer.

The Pompey boss still believes his squad is to thin to survive in The Premiership even after their impressive 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Fratton Park on Saturday and wants the youngster to bolster his squad.

The 19-year-old was named as new captain this season by boss Stuart Murdoch, a clear indication of how much the club rate him but The Dons financial struggles are well documented which may force them to cash in on their prized asset.

Redknapp also confirmed he may be tempted to make a double raid on the troubled First Division club with a move for team-mate Patrick Agyemang too.

"I certainly haven't lost interest in Nigel, he's a very exciting player," confirmed Redknapp.

"While Patrick has real potential and can be a handful on his day."
