Dutch side ADO Den Haag are interested in Wapenaar, but chief executive Peter Storrie says that he will be remaining on the South Coast.
Pompey had been after Paul Smith but Brentford would want a hefty sum for the highly-rated keeper - and Portsmouth's transfer funds will be going on a striker.
"We know of Den Haag's interest, through an agent, but nothing's going to happen," said Storrie.
"We need three keepers so we couldn't let one go unless we had another one coming in.
"Brentford want a fee for Smith, so that would not happen now. Any money we put in during the transfer window will be for a striker."
Meanwhile, Pompey midfielder Neil Barrett is closing in on a loan move to Scotland with Dundee.
The cash-strapped Dark Blues are in need of reinforcements and Barrett is on his way to Scotland to discuss the move.
Both Graham Rix and Jim Duffy will welcome him at Dens Park and are hoping that their Portsmouth connections will help persuade him to move.
