Brian Priske has left Portsmouth and signed for Club Brugge on a four-year deal.
Brian Priske has swapped Portsmouth for Belgium after putting the finishing touches on his transfer to Club Brugge.The defender has signed a four-year deal with the Jupiler League side, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead.
Reflecting on his one year on the South coast, Priske insisted that he would leave with fond memories, but explained that he did not always see eye to eye with coach Harry Redknapp.
"I was very glad to have played in England. The competition there was beautiful, with a good game every weekend," he said.
"However, I had problems with the manager.
"I wanted to play every game and I hope to be able to do that here."
Priske also explained that the presence of former Genk team-mate Koen Daerden at Brugge was a major factor in his decision to join up.
"Koen was a good friend of mine at Genk. He has been here a month now and knows the club," he commented.
Javier Portillo, meanwhile, who was loaned to Club Brugge from Real Madrid last season, is expected to switch to Monaco before the start of the new campaign.
Monaco boss Lazlo Boloni is a firm admirer of the forward and is reportedly close to striking a four-year deal to bring him to the Principality.
