Pompey striker set for exit

Portsmouth look to be ready to offload young striker James Keene

Portsmouth look to be ready to offload James Keene, with a number of Scandinavian clubs interested in signing the young striker.

Keene has been on loan at Swedish side GAIS since March, and took advantage of his time away from Fratton Park to claim 10 goals in 24 appearances.

The striker's impressive form has seen a range of clubs in Sweden, Denmark and Norway all take an interest in the 21-year-old.

Now Keene's agent Patrik Mork has confirmed that he expects Pompey to allow his client to leave if a suitable offer arises.

"The indications we have got from Portsmouth lean in that direction," Mork told Sportbladet.

"James Keene will most probably play in Sweden next year too."

Whilst Keene has been plying his trade in foreign fields, Kanu has emerged as one of the Premiership's most potent strikers this season, and Harry Redknapp also has Benjani Mwaruwari, Tresor Lomana Lua Lua and Andy Cole at his disposal.
