Perry makes Valley switch permanent

Charlton Athletic have agreed a nominal fee with Tottenham to make Chris Perry's loan move permanent.

The centre back headed for The Valley in a loan deal just before transfer deadline day with Paul Konchesky heading the other way.

The transfer will not affect the remainder of Konchesky's loan spell at White Hart Lane, which is due to expire on December 13, the date of the game with Newcastle, but the England cap is keen to extend his stay in North London.

Perry joined Spurs in 1999 for £4 million from Wimbledon and amassed a total of 146 appearances, scoring four goals.

The stopper was overlooked by former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle at the start of the season but has been a mainstay in the Charlton backline, making nine appearances since his switch across London.

In other news, Spurs have released reserve defender Ronnie Henry, 19, and midfielder Jonathan Black, 18.
