Robbo fears Gunners glory

Paul Robinson fears Spurs could miss out on next season's UEFA Champions League.

Paul Robinson fears Arsenal's form is so good they could go on to win the UEFA Champions League and pip Tottenham for a place in next season's competition.

Spurs are desperate to finish fourth in The Premiership and claim a qualifying spot in the Champions League, although that incentive is now under threat.

With The Gunners flying high in this season's competition, should they go on and win the whole thing outright, then their North London rivals would miss out altogether next term.

Robinson is not worrying about how Arsenal get on in Europe, he is just focusing on help Spurs claim their fourth spot and is hoping that will be enough to qualify for the tournament.

"So long as they don't win it and knock us out of that fourth spot. That would be the nightmare situation," explained Robinson.

"It would be a massive disappointment. That's a long way off, there are six or seven games to go. We've still got to play them at their place.

"There's a long way of the season to go. We've got to concentrate on finishing on that fourth spot. If that does happen there is nothing we can do about it."

Robinson knows in order to claim fourth spot everyone will need to up their game against Manchester City, live on PremPlus, following last week's disappointing display against Newcastle.

"Last weekend was disappointing, we didn't play particularly well," he added. "That was out poorest performance for a while.

"To receive criticism from anyone is not nice, but from your own manager it's specifically not nice.

"He thought we deserved that and we'll be out to prove him wrong this weekend."
