"I have obviously worked with a number of players in the Welsh squad that I know a great deal about," said Hughes.
"I'm always interested in good players, and Danny is a good player but whether or not there is a possibility of him coming is down to his own football club.
"We certainly haven't made an approach to them."
Gabbidon only recently signed a new deal at Cardiff and The Bluebirds would loathe losing their star defender.
