Rovers still keen on Ahn

Blackburn are still expecting Ahn Jung-hwan to travel to Ewood Park for a trial.

Blackburn are still expecting Ahn Jung-hwan to travel to Ewood Park for a trial, despite the South Korean's agent insisting his client had no intention of making such a move.

Ahn had been tipped to head to the North West as reports suggested he was on the cusp of striking a deal with Rovers, only to baulk at the move when learning Mark Hughes wanted to put him through his paces first.

The South Korean duly failed to arrive at Ewood Park on Tuesday, instead opting to remain with his club Metz.

Rovers still feel there is mileage in the deal and are expecting Ahn to arrive on Wednesday.

"We were expecting him yesterday but having spoken to the people arranging it we are now expecting him tomorrow," said Rovers chairman John Williams.

"We don't know what the reasons are, because it has never been any status other than a trial. That remains the case and we expect him to be training with us for two or three days, and we will then decide whether we want to pursue a transfer."

It remains to be seen whether Ahn will pitch up in the North West, due to the conflicting reports on the subject.
