SOLANO CHARGED WITH DRINK-DRIVING

NEWCASTLE UNITED midfielder Nolberto Solano has been charged by police with drink-driving.

The Peruvian winger was stopped by local police on his way home to the Little Benton estate on the outskirts of the city in the early hours of Friday morning.

He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of excess alcohol.

Solano has been bailed to appear at Newcastle Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 10.

It will be interesting to note Bobby Robson's response to the incident, as there has been some speculation on Tyneside that the talented star could be on his way out of the club in the summer.
