After failing to cement a place in Kevin Keegan's first-team plans, Shuker has decided to drop down a couple of divisions in order to guarantee regular football.
Earlier this season the pacey wideman enjoyed a productive spell on loan at Hartlepool and the diminutive midfielder now becomes Paul Hart's first signing at Oakwell.
Shuker has penned a deal that keeps him at the Yorkshire club until the end of the 2004/05 campaign and his signature will be regarded as coup by Tykes supporters.
The 21-year-old has previously impressed in loan periods with Macclesfield, Walsall, Rochdale and Hartlepool, where he made 15 first-team appearances this term.
