Musampa eyes City deal

Kiki Musampa remains determined to clinch a permanent deal at Manchester City.

Kiki Musampa remains determined to clinch a permanent deal at Manchester City after revealing he has rediscovered his enjoyment for football.

The Dutch winger initially moved to The City of Manchester Stadium midway through last season in a loan switch from Atletico Madrid.

The loan arrangement was extended to cover the current campaign and Musampa is keen to stay with City in the long term.

He feels he has yet to hit his peak and the 28-year-old is hoping to have the opportunity to remain with Stuart Pearce's side.

"I've proved a few things here, but I can do more," Musampa told the Sunday Times.

"People can see a better Musampa."

Musampa has established himself as a fixture on the left flank for City and admits, in contrast to his time in La Liga, he is relishing playing football again.

He added: "I didn't know about City's traditions for being a positive team until I arrived, but I love playing for them and their crowd.

"When I came here I was looking for the joy again and I found it. Now I enjoy coming to work.

"At the end in Spain I was losing my enjoyment.

"The way Stuart Pearce wants us to play here is quick, as a team, with everyone moving - the two-touch game. That's what makes beautiful football."
