Cottagers chasing Sodje

Brentford's Sam Sodje says Fulham are ready to move for him in January.

Brentford stopper Sam Sodje says Fulham are ready to mount a bid for his services in the January transfer window.

The Nigerian star has become a pivotal player for Martin Allen's Bees and has attracted interest from the Premiership outfit for his impressive displays in League One.

Sodje had revealed in May that both Blackburn and West Ham were monitoring his progress, although Chris Coleman's side now seem to be at the head of the queue after making their interest clear.

After missing out on a dream move to The Premiership last time, the 25-year-old is praying that Brentford allow him to fulfil his ambition and leave Griffin Park.

"Fulham have approached my manager and they told him that they will do everything possible to get me when the transfer window opens again and that should be in January," Sodje told Kick Off.

"[I hope] my club Brentford will enable me to realise my ambition of playing in The Premiership this time around.

"Last season, several Premiership clubs discussed with my manager and my club but my club felt the price was not right."
