Boa wants duo to stay

Luis Boa Morte hopes Fulham can keep hold of Papa Bouba Diop and Steed Malbranque.

Fulham skipper Luis Boa Morte is hopeful that the club can keep hold of Papa Bouba Diop and Steed Malbranque.

Diop and Malbranque have both been strongly linked with moves away from Fulham when the transfer window reopens next month.

Boa Morte himself was linked with a move away from Fulham before pledging his future to the club in the summer and he believes it is important that they keep hold of their best players.

"I always worry about that (players leaving)," Boa Morte told Sky Sports News.

"You know the manager and the chairman will have something to say.

"They (Malbranque and Diop) are massive influences for the club and our team and we look forward to keeping them until the end of the season at least.

"It's important to keep them so to climb up some places in the table.

"We definitely have them until the 31st of December.

"Up until the Portsmouth game we will have Papa, but after that he will be gone to the African Cup of Nations so it will be another blow to us."
