Taylor sees end to nightmare

Wigan's Ryan Taylor is determined not to jeopardise his career.

Wigan's Ryan Taylor is determined not to jeopardise his career by rushing back from serious injury too soon.

The Latics left back suffered a broken metatarsal and then a broken leg last season and the former Tranmere player is not expected to return until January next year.

The luckless Taylor broke his fifth metatarsal in an FA Cup clash with Leeds in January and more misfortune was to dog Taylor as he stepped up his comeback.

A leg break in a reserve team fixture against Newcastle just three months later effectively put paid to his chances of action in 2006.

Taylor admits his rehabilitation has been agonising at times but he can at least see some light at the end of the tunnel.

"When I'm in the gym and looking out of the window seeing the lads doing five-a-sides, shooting and the enjoyment that comes with football - things like that make me want to get back not quicker but to come back even stronger," Taylor told Sky Sports News.

"Both bones were clean breaks so that speaks for itself really.

"I'm having treatment - hopefully I'll make a 100 percent recovery and be okay for the future."
