Latics make Duke bid

Wigan are believed to have tabled a bid for West Brom striker Nathan Ellington.

Sky Sports News understand Wigan Athletic have tabled a bid for former striker Nathan Ellington.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell is keen to bolster his attacking options after losing Henri Camara to injury and West Brom ace Ellington is thought to be his top target.

Ellington has been continually linked with a move back to Wigan, with Jewell confirming his interest in the powerful striker.

The 25-year-old left Wigan for West Brom in the summer of 2005, but he has failed to establish himself at The Hawthorns.

Jewell is keen to be reunited with the player and is thought have made a firm offer for Ellington, as he looks to sign him during this month's transfer window.
