Kilbane issues rallying call

Kevin Kilbane has issued a rallying call to his Wigan team-mates.

Kevin Kilbane has issued a rallying call to his team-mates ahead of the final games of the season, well aware that Wigan are very much embroiled in the battle to beat the drop.

Paul Jewell's side find themselves just three points above the drop zone with four games left, in what is fast developing into a difficult second season in the Premiership, at The JJB.

In their last Premiership outing against Tottenham, Wigan contrived to squander a lead on three separate occasions, but while disappointed with what ended as a 3-3 stalemate, Kilbane was impressed with the tenacity shown throughout.

Buoyed by the fact this season's destiny remains in their own hands, Kilbane is confident that should everyone involved stand up and be counted, then there could yet be a happy conclusion come the campaign's conclusion.

"It's in our own hands, and we've still two key games at home to West Ham and Middlesbrough," said Kilbane.

"We have to pick up points from those two games, and we can't be nervous, as against Spurs when we played without fear.

"We attacked Tottenham, we looked capable of scoring goals, and that's the key for us now.

"We have to get at teams, be at them from the first whistle, and hopefully we can get goals."
