Port Vale have extended the loan of Sheffield United striker Gary Mulligan for a second month.The 20-year-old has made five appearances so far for the Potteries club and Vale boss Martin Foyle has decided to keep the hit-man for another four weeks.
The former Wolves player will not be eligible for Vale's FA Cup first round tie against Wrexham.
One player that has ended his loan spell at Vale Park is Darrell Clarke, with the midfielder returning to League One rivals Hartlepool United.
Meanwhile, Vale chairman Bill Bratt is determined to keep hold of defender Sam Collins and striker Billy Paynter, despite turning down a bid from Plymouth Argyle for the pair.
Bratt insisted that the offer they received from The Pilgrims was nowhere near the valuation they have placed on the duo.
"It was nowhere near enough," Bratt told the Stoke Sentinel.
"The offer wasn't £300,000 and I don't know where that figure has come from.
"We want to keep our better players, but we do understand they want to play at a higher level and we won't hold them back.
"But the club has to be looked after as well and they can't expect to go for silly money just because they would be getting extra in their wage packets."
